When is an "event" not an event?

I promised a while ago to make my blog a "Sheehan-free" zone.  But this was so funny that I had to write about it:

Sheehanbored (AP Photo)

Yep, that's Comrade Mama Moonbat herself, waiting to sign books on Saturday.  Sadly, the throngs of admirers never came.  She's been back in Crawford, TX, generally being a nuisance and proving that if your beliefs are "controversial" in a way that liberal journalists appreciate, you can still make news irregardless of how irrelevent you are.

But in order to be helpful, I think that news outlets should impose a voluntary standard on themselves, out of respect for us, that defines just what an "event" is.  I believe that the standard should be this:  if less than 100 people show up for something, then it should not be considered an event and should not be reported.  Or alternately, if there are more reporters and photographers in attendance than actual event participants, the story should be canned.

UPDATE: Sheehan claims that in spite of the AP photo, groupies came to her tent in parties of three to five, and that she in fact sold all 100 copies of her book, and "got writer's cramp signing them."  No word yet on whether she will sue her readers for aggrivated injury.
