What she's saying ...
"THANK YOU. MR. PRESIDENT, I RISE TODAY TO OFFER AN AMENDMENT TO THIS WILL BUDGET RESOLUTION THAT WOULD PROVIDE $5 BILLION FOR OUR FIRST RESPONDERS SO THAT THEY CAN EFFECTIVELY AND RELIABLY COMMUNICATE WITH EQUIPMENT THAT CAN SPEAK TO EACH OTHER, INTEROPERABLE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT. I REGRET TO SAY THAT THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN DANGEROUSLY INCOMPETENT IN PROVIDING HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING, AND PARTICULARLY WHEN WE TALK ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING FOR OUR FIRST RESPONDERS AND THEIR ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE..."
and what I'm hearing ...
(h/t Drudge, Malkin, and GOPandCollege, who is running a Stabenow Photoshop contest)
Really folks, this kind of thing is awfully embarassing. It's hard to believe that anyone takes political grandstanding like this seriously these days. And in light of Bill Clinton urging Democrats to take the moral high ground and end "the politics of personal destruction," I can't help but chuckle at efforts by the Democrats to make President Bush into a criminal over simple policy disagreements.
If George W. Bush clearly committed a crime -- that is, something that ordinary people (not a gaggle of lawyers and "policy experts" arguing amongst themselves for the last six years) could clearly see as a violation of law, (such as lying under oath before a Federal judge) then please, show us the evidence. Enough with the silly signs.
President Bush, as every other President who preceeded him, has missed opportunities and has made wrong calls. His administration has not been perfect; none ever has. Are we better off always shooting a horse first, or should we take time to examine its ailments and do something to aid its recovery? Politics isn't the same as horse doctoring, of course. But we would all benefit if there were more people genuinely interested in solving problems before they let the bullets fly.

I don't think its very funny. This shows a gross disrespect for the Senate Floor and the Goodwill of the American People.

Very funny!
And, unlike "GM", I'm not too concerned about gross disrespect for the Senate Floor. The Senate Walls? Maybe. But not the Senate Floor.
