WizBang, The Anchoress, and others are trumpeting the news -- reported on Friday and with little news cycle fanfare -- that the US economy is roaring. Highlights:
National unemployment is now at 4.6% (remember, ten years ago economists were saying that 5.0% unemployment was "full employment"?)
Due to an unexpected upturn in tax receipts, the deficit for 2006 will probably be slashed to $250 billion or less, or about 55% of its projected amount
The Dow closed at record highs three days in a row
The Labor Department somehow "missed" 810,000 jobs, mostly from small business and the self-employeed
Real income rose by over 4% from the previous year
If the mainstream media were really the sock puppets of Karl Rove and the evil Bushitler regime, these stories would be front page headline news... um, wouldn't they?
