Conservatives had their panties twisted into a knot Wednesday night during the season finale of "Law and Order: Criminal Intent." One of the detectives quipped that the suspect in the shooting death of an appellate judge would be "wearing a Tom DeLay t-shirt." DeLay filed a formal complaint with NBC.
This episode is obviously based on the well-publicized murder of the family of a Chicago appellate judge this past March. But what, if anything at all, did Tom DeLay have to do with that case? And interestingly, the only "Tom DeLay t-shirt" that I ever recall seeing was this one.
For the record, though, I remember the character Grissom on "CSI" once quipping that evidence in a case looked "as phony as a Chappaquiddick neckbrace." I got a big laugh out of that one.
