Thanks for a great bio on Jan Savitt. While Jan may have been born in 1908, it is possible he was born in Shumsk in the present-day Ukraine, rather than in St. Petersburg. Jan's family immigrated in 1909 and the family was enumerated in the 1910 US Census in Philiadelphia. In 1910, Jan was 2 years old and was listed under the name Jacob Servetnick.
