We made it to Vegas today. I spent most of the afternoon just taking everything in. The scale of the landmarks on the Strip -- the hotels, the huge mural advertisements, the architectural oddities -- is overwhelming. Any one of the Strip hotels could be a city in itself.
I also spent a good deal of time shopping with my wife. She is a professional shopper, and combs through stores and shopping malls with the eye of a detective. I usually just follow along and occasionally read prices out loud, just as a gentle reminder ...
We spent the evening at the West Wing at the MGM Grand with a small group of bloggers including Kevin Aylward and Mary Katherine Ham (pictured with yours truly in the middle), Mike Krempasky, and Steve Foley. I talked for quite a while with Kevin, who is as friendly as he is smart. I also talked with Mary Katherine about journalism and blogging. Did you know that her father had been a newspaperman for 35 years? I guess writing is in the family genes. Good looks, too.
GodBlogCon and BlogWorld both start tomorrow. I'll have more to report then. Speaking of GodBlogCon, I spotted Mark D. Roberts out on the Strip. I'll be looking for a full confession on his blog.
More tomorrow ... over and out.
Great photo, Mike! Thanks for blogging about GodBlogCon. I had to back out at the last moment but I'm eager to hear your take on what happens at the conference.

Bonjour!
