FACT: According to the blog Faithful Progressive, when Gov. Sarah Palin learned that Barack Obama had clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, she remarked to friends in a restaurant, "So Sambo beat the bitch!" Reportedly Palin was overheard by the waitress at the restaurant, who relayed this information during a telephone interview with writer Charley James, the author of the post. In a subsequent post, James staunchly defended himself and the credibility of his source.
As far as can be accurately determined, no other sources for this story have been found, and so far no one has come forward with any other stories of Palin using this kind of language on a regular basis.
